With the commencement of Class 11 admission process on Monday, candidates wasted no time in logging onto the First Year Junior College (FYJC) Online Admissions 2013-14 website.

The admission forms are available between 10am to 5pm on the admissions website at fyjc.org.in/Mumbai.

Students can start filling their college preferences in the option forms that will be available after the board exams results are declared. But, education department officials have advised students to approach their school or the nearest ‘guidance centre’ to fill the forms. This year, there are 47 guidance centres across the city for students, especially those coming from outside the state or studying in a non-state board to seek assistance in filling their forms.

“Applicants other than those in the open category or open category applicants claiming any reservation, should get the form and documents approved from school or the guidance centre,’’ said NB Chavan, deputy director of education.

The state school education minister Rajendra Darda had earlier said that class 10 results will be declared on time by first week of June. He said that the admission process will be completed within 25 days. “We are trying to keep the process short so colleges can start on time,’’ said a senior education official.
