Prime accused in the Arun Tikku murder case Vijay Palande and his associate Manoj Gajkosh will be in police custody for further interrogation till April 25.

Sources revealed that Palande might be subsequently arrested in the murder and kidnapping of Delhi-based aspiring film producer Karan Kumar Kakkad.

The crime branch had arrested Palande, Gajkosh and Dhananjay Shinde on April 10. While Shinde had pleaded that he wants to confess to his crime, the other two alleged that they have been falsely implicated in the case. Shinde was sent to judicial custody while the duo has been in police custody since then.

The police demanded their custody stating that they need to interrogate them. Consequently, the court remanded the duo in police custody till Wednesday.

‘Model has property worth `Rs.45 lakh’
Simran Sood, the alleged wife of Vijay Palande and one of the accused in the kidnapping and murder of Delhi-based aspiring film producer Karan Kumar Kakkad, has property worth Rs.45 lakh, two cars and lots of jewellery, the crime branch alleged.

Sood was arrested on April 12. She was produced before the Esplanade court on Monday. In the court, Sood said, “I have been in police custody for 20 days now and I need a lawyer.”

The public prosecutor submitted that the investigation is in process. “Sood has properties worth Rs.45 lakh and more and also has two cars and jewellery which the crime branch needs to recover,” the prosecutor submitted. The court remanded Sood in police custody till April 26.
