Investigations into the disappearance of actor Laila Khan and her family case have gathered momentum. The Mumbai crime branch has started questioning all those connected with the case and is also exploring the possibility that the actor and the five missing members of her family may have been killed.

A crime branch has reached Igatpuri to probe the fire at a farmhouse owned by Laila Khan. At a later stage of the investigation, police are also likely to take Tak to the Igatpuri farmhouse and to Laila's mother Celina's Oshiwara residence.

Police are also searching for two of Khan's drivers. "We are questioning the two watchmen who were posted at the Igatpuri farmhouse. We are on the lookout for the third watchman from Jammu and Kashmir who was questioned by the J&K police, but subsequently let off," a source from the crime branch said.

The source added that more arrests were likely in the case. These could include Laila's stepfather Asif Sheikh, her friend Afgan Khan, and a person identified only as Sonu, whose link with Laila is yet to be ascertained. The source added that these people would be confronted with accused Pervez Tak, who has been arrested by the police.

As per the complaint filed by Laila's father Nadir Patel, the actor along with the five members of her family have been missing since February 2011. Patel has named Tak and Asif as the suspects.
