Jet Airways pilot Vishal (name changed), accused of raping a 22-year-old airhostess (also working with Jet) approached the Bombay High court seeking quashing of the FIR.

Vishal, in his petition, said the "crime was to harass and pressurise him for marriage after his parents did not accept their two-year relationship."

Vishal claimed that if there was a physical relationship between them, "it was by consent and was within the knowledge of both the families."

The victim told the police that Vishal entered into a physical relationship allegedly after promising her marriage.

Later Vishal backed off from the promise and even threatened to throw acid on the victim's face.
