Police arrest three robbers from Kalyan

The Kalyan crime investigation unit and the Kolsewadi police trapped three robbers near Vangani village in a joint operation on Thursday and arrested them. The three arrested are Gangaram Atmaram Linge, 29, Nitin Rohidas Shelar, 27, and Swami Ananta Banote, 22.

A few days ago, these men had robbed a hotel owner Rajendra Shetty, 24, and his staff Mahesh Desale, 27, on Nandivali Road, Kalyan. Inspector Anilkumar Yadav, Kalyan Crime Investigation Unit, said the two were on their way home.

On the way, the robbers stopped their autorickshaw by positioning a motorcycle in front of it.

They assaulted Shetty and Desale with sticks and snatched gold ornaments worth Rs 20,000 and a mobile phone.

The owner registered a complaint at Kolsewadi police station.

Police commissioner KP Raghuvanshi ordered the Kalyan CIU and the police to conduct simultaneous investigations into this case.
