The police laid a trap for the trio following a tip-off that the men were to assemble in Kashimira.

“We have recovered a country-made revolver and two live rounds from Mushtaq and a single-barrel shotgun from Mohamed,” senior police inspector, Anil Patil, said.

“We also recovered a chopper from Javed.”

However, the police are yet to ascertain why the men had gathered and what the arms were for.

The police said while Mushtaq has three cases of robbery and house break-ins registered against him at Bandra and Goregaon police stations, Mohamed has been arrested in a house break-in case by the crime branch in the past and is also wanted in several other cases.

The trio has been booked under the Arms Act and has been remanded into police custody until October 4.
