The JJ Marg police on Saturday night foiled an attempt to loot an ATM located opposite the headquarters of the anti-terrorism squad (ATS) at Nagpada. While the police arrested two persons, three others involved in the attempted loot managed to flee.
The incident took place at around 1.20am on Sunday, when the local police patrolling the area and were alerted by a taxi driver about a few men trying to break open an ATM machine.
When the police reached the reached the spot, the accused tried to flee.
The two arrested accused have been identified as Sarfaraz Hussain, 22, and Akhil Khan, 24. Khan incidentally has been externed from the city.
S Surve, senior inspector, JJ Marg said, “ We are questioning the arrested accused to find the identity those who fled from the spot.”
