The police and agencies from outside Maharashtra have been granted access to interrogate Naquee Ahmed and Nadeem Sheikh, both of whom have been arrested in the 13/7 triple blasts case. "Already a few have questioned the duo but the Delhi police are not one of them as they have not sent a request. We will allow all those who want to question the accused," a senior official of the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), Maharashtra, said on Wednesday.
Speaking on the progress of the investigations in the blasts case, the officer said ATS teams were still working outside the state and the investigations were on track. Naquee's brother Taquee is also under the ATS investigations, the officer said.
On the hawala trail, which was used to finance the blasts operation, the officer said they were still to get custody of Haroon Rashid Naik and the ATS hoped to have him in custody by the end of the week.
"There are legal procedures currently underway. As he happens to be in jail custody in other case the court process is going on," the officer said. Haroon was arrested by ATS in a fake currency case on August 22, 2011 and he is currently in Jail. "We have probed the hawala link properly and we need Haroon to verify certain inputs and work is underway on that front," the ATS officer said.
About Yasin Bhatkal alias Imran alias Siddibappa, the main accused in the 13/7 blasts case, the ATS official said Yasin could be anywhere and that is why they had released his latest picture.
