At least 25 policemen including officials from the Anti-Terrorism Squad, gathered at the spot after police got news that a suspicious object had been planted at a dustbin near Infiniti mall.

"All the relevant forces, including the ATS, rushed to Infiniti mall after locals informed the police at around 11.45am. Everyone dispersed only around 2.30 pm after the BDDS declared it was a dummy," said Pratap Dighavkar, deputy commissioner of police for zone 9. Police will now check if closed-circuit television cameras had been installed near the spot, in order to see who placed the dummy in the dustbin. Dighavkar confirmed police were still trying to trace this person.

"No local has claimed to have seen anyone planting the bomb. The dummy looks a lot like a real bomb. It is not even clear if the person put it in the dustbin out of mischief, or simply abandoned it. Police are now examining the dummy," said an official from Amboli police station.
