For the last one week, Ambernath residents haven’t been taking the skywalk to the railway station. Reason: the power supply to the skywalk has been snapped owing to the non-payment of outstanding bill amount of Rs 29,000.

Sunil Choudhari, president, Ambernath municipal council, said: “I wrote a letter to the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) asking them to clear the dues last week itself. Still, no action has been taken.”

The action was taken after sending a reminder to the MMRDA, said a Mahadiscom officer. The MMRDA authorities remained unavailable for comment.
