Speaking about the progress in the Preity Zinta-Ness Wadia case, police commissioner Rakesh Maria said the police are in the process of recording statements of independent witnesses, such as those working in the hospitality sector and security staff, who were present at the Wankhede Stadium when the alleged incident took place.

Both sides had also given a list of witnesses to the police.

Zinta had on June 12 filed a police complaint alleging that Wadia had publicly abused her and outraged her modesty during an IPL match on May 30.
