Radio stations to air Marathi songs

Private radio stations – Radio Mirchi and Radio One – have agreed to air Marathi programmes, following a threat from Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray.

Private radio stations – Radio Mirchi and Radio One – have agreed to air Marathi programmes, following a threat from Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray.

"Radio Mirchi sent a letter and said they will begin broadcast Marathi programme for their audience from August 1," confirmed Shiv Sena leader Shweta Parulkar.

While Radio One will launch a programme at a function soon, an official from Radio Mirch went to Matoshri, residence of Bal Thackeray to hand over the letter.
