In a strongly worded editorial in its mouthpiece Saamna, the Shiv Sena, on Saturday, has made a strong attack on both Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah over their recent controversial remarks.
The Sena has demanded that the leaders need to get their brains checked and have themselves admitted to mental hospitals.
Referring to Gandhi as the ‘crown prince’, the editorial says he should be packed off to his ‘motherland’ Italy. ‘ He has made a ‘great discovery’ that both the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) are on an equal footing. SIMI has been involved in several terrorist activities, communal riots and even in Mumbai bomb blasts. How can he compare it to the RSS, which is the fountainhead of nationalism, and symbolises sacrifices and selfless service to society,’ it says.
Calling it a ‘juvenile’ comparison, the editorial goes on to list the work of the RSS saying it has brought together Hindus at a national level and is actively working in the fields of education and culture, it says.
Going on to Abdullah, the editorial says that he cannot be ignored considering he has said that Kashmir was compelled to be a part of India.
“He should be kicked out of the chief minister’s post considering he has asked for talks between the two nations to solve the Kashmir issue which is anti-national,” it says.
