Incessant rains, coupled with a flash strike by cabbies led to a harrowing time for Mumbaikars on Monday.

Incessant rains, coupled with a flash strike by cabbies led to a harrowing time for Mumbaikars on Monday.

Nearly 5,000 taximen affiliated to the Republican Party of India went on a flash strike demanding the RTO halt its drive against illegal taxis. Stray incidents of taxis being smashed and subsequent rumours forced other taxis to stay off the roads.

There were wall, balcony and slab collapses in Sion, Bhandup, Vikhroli and Masjid Bunder; a landslide at Bhandup.
