Maharashtra Navnirman Sena President Raj Thackeray has objected to people dressing up as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj during processions to mark the birth or the coronation ceremony of the Maratha king.

Speaking at the DVD launch of 'Raja Shiv Chhatrapati', a Marathi TV serial, Thursday night Thackeray said all political parties need to ensure that such activities are stopped.

"Instead portraits of Shivaji can be worshipped during the processions," he said.
