The mild showers last week that caused flooding in Andheri (E) have left residents of the locality worried about the pre-monsoon work done by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

“Just 15 minutes of rain in Andheri and the area is water-logged. What will happen when there are heavy showers?” said Chhavi Kapoor, 25, who lives in Andheri. Water-logging on the Andheri-Kurla road stretch is a big concern for residents during every monsoon.

HT accompanied Agni volunteer James John to examine how rain ready Andheri east is. The area has 20 major nullahs and around 45 minor nullahs.

We visited Krishna nullah, Shanti Nagar nullah and Kondivita nullah.
