The gold medallion presented to Sachin Tendulkar at an event on January 29, which was reportedly stolen, was found on Wednesday.
The medallion, an 80-gram gold-plated disc, was a memento for Sachin’s mother on the occasion of his father’s 80th birth anniversary. An FIR for theft was registered with the Bandra police.
Dwarkanath Sanzgiri, organiser of the event, told HT that the disc was found by N Padmana-bhan, a senior manager with reco-rding company EMI. “We had gifted similar silver discs to some people while Sachin received the gold disc. Padmanabhan, after reading the HT article, checked his box and informed us that the gold disc had mistakenly come to him,” said Sanzgiri.
Amitabh Gupta, additional commissioner of police (west), confirmed that the medallion was found.
