The MRA Marg police are checking profiles of all criminals that are on record with the city police to trace the thieves who broke into two flats at the police colony, behind the police station on Friday night.

The flats of two constables on the first and second floors of the police quarters were broken into and burgled.

The houses that were looted belonged to constables Madhukar Kshirsagar from Pydhonie police station and Sanjiwani Wankhede from the Cuffe Parade police station when their families were asleep in one room while the other (that was broken into) was locked.

Sanjeev Kokil, senior police inspector said they are checking the records of all criminals and robbers with the city police.

“We are in the process of matching the fingerprints of the record criminals with the prints found in the houses of the constables to trace the unidentified robbers,” said Kokil.

“We suspect that robbers might have scaled the compound walls of the police quarters that faces the railway tracks. We will now increase patrolling in the vicinity and the security of the police quarters and the entire locality,” added Kokil.
