Landing a major blow to the Shiv Sena, Anand Paranjpe, its sole Member of Parliament (MP) from the Mumbai-Thane region has rebelled and may join the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).
On Friday, Paranjpe made a dramatic entry at the NCP office and joined party chief Sharad Pawar on the dais. He used the platform to slam the Sena leadership for ignoring citizens’ woes.
“Sena chief Bal Thackeray is my icon. But the party is not what it once was. It has digressed from its agenda of development… the real Sainik is feeling trapped,’’ said the MP from Kalyan. An irked Sena has asked Paranjpe to resign.
