The police security cover of the three Sena leaders who protested against Rahul Gandhi’s visit to the city has been withdrawn.
Ravindra Waikar, Bala Sawant and Anil Parab had got the security after confrontations with political rivals.
Waikar alleged that “withdrawing of our security cover indicates how the Congress party is misusing its power and threatening people who tried agitation against the party.”
Rahul’s ‘Bombay’ irks Bal Thackeray
Mumbai: the Shiv Sena on Tuesday attacked Rahul Gandhi again, this time for calling Mumbai “Bombay” during his recent visit to the city.
“During his speech here, Rahul Gandhi repeatedly called Mumbai as Bombay. Those who want to break Mumbai away from Maharashtra call Mumbai as Bombay,” Sena Chief Bal Thackeray said in an editorial in party mouthpiece Saamna.
Sena attacks Arindam Chaudhuri
Mumbai: The Shiv Sena has trained its guns on management guru Arindam Chaudhuri for talking about “making Mumbai a Union territory”. Chaudhuri, the editor-in-chief of The Sunday Indian, had said in an editorial, “Hats off to Shah Rukh Khan for standing his ground! It’s now time to end this hooliganism once and for all and make Mumbai a union territory!” Sena mouthpiece Saamna on Tuesday said Chaudhuri has “insulted Maharashtra by spewing such venom”.
