Priti Jaiswal, 35, who was attacked by a man at Sewri on Thursday, fears a repeat after the attacker is free.

“My family is not safe anymore,” she said.

Jaiswal is also worried about the effect it will have on her children. “Sanjana [my daughter], is afraid and has not approached me owing to my wounds” she said.

Local residents are terrified.
