The local Sikhs staged a protest near Kalamboli gurdwara demanding further police action. The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena too protested near the school premises.

Police have arrested a junior college teacher on rape charges, which he has denied.

The protestors were upset at the students and staff of the school supporting the accused Feroze Shaikh.

Meanwhile, the accused, Feroze Shaikh, was remanded to two more days in police custody on Tuesday.

The strict police bandobast around the school has irked residents because they have to take long detours while travelling by car.
