A Sewri session court on Friday granted bail to model Simran Sood, wife murder accused Vijay Palande, in Arun Tikku murder case. However, she will have to remain in jail for sometime due to her alleged involvement in two others cases.

Sood was arrested on April 26 for her alleged involvement in the senior citizen’s murder. On July 6, the crime branch had filed a charge sheet against her, along with other accused — Palande, Dhananjay Shinde, Manoj Gajkosh.

Sood had filed the bail application in August claiming that she has played no role in the killing.

The prosecution, however, objected to the bail plea stating that she was well aware of the plan to kill Tikku and had played a role. Defence advocate Shyam Keshwani argued that the murder was not planned.

After hearing the arguments from both sides, the court granted bail to Sood, on the condition that she furnish a bail bond and surety of Rs1 lakh and deposit her passport.

As per the prosecution case, Sood had introduced Palande to Arun’s son, Anuj, as her brother Karan. Palande befriended Anuj and then conspired to grab his flat, admeasuring 1,500 sqft.

Palande allegedly made Anuj rent out a portion of the flat to his German wife Nibis Ligenza and Sood signed as witness in the agreement.

On the pretext that he wanted to get the flat painted Palande brought Shinde and Gajkosh in the flat and started staying there.
