Six persons were killed and 78 others injured when a truck carrying a marriage party turned turtle and plunged into a ravine in Patan taluka of Satara district on Sunday.
According to police, the driver lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a sharp turn.
While six persons died on the spot, the injured were admitted to two separate hospitals at Karad and Patan, said Shivaji Shinde, deputy superintendent of police.
“The bride was also injured in the incident. But all the injured are now stable,” said Shinde. The deceased were from Bharasakali village of Satara district.
