South Mumbai records 2.4mm rainfall
MUMBAI: South Mumbai recorded 2.4mm rain between 8.30pm on Monday and 8.30am on Tuesday.
The suburbs, however recorded only traces of rain in the past 24 hours. Weathermen on Tuesday predicted light rain to continue in the city, mostly during the evening hours. “Westerly winds carrying moisture along the coast has led to cloud formation. The phenomenon is taking place by the evening and is expected to continue for the next 48 hours,” said an official from the Regional Meteorological Centre, India Meteorological Department.
Temperatures in the city and suburbs on Tuesday were similar to previous days. While Colaba recorded the day temperature at 35.2 degrees Celsius, 35.1 degrees Celsius was recorded at Santacruz. Meanwhile, light rain in the city helped disperse pollutants as the AQI for Mumbai was recorded at 71, falling under the ‘good’ category.
