A Class 12 student of DAV School, in Panvel, committed suicide on Wednesday after failing in the CBSE exams.

Amit Yeshwant Patil (18), a resident of Taka Gaon in Panvel failed in his physics exam.

“After Amit checked his results on the Internet, he found he had failed in physics and inevitably, his Class 12 exams. He could not come to terms with his failure and killed himself,” said Assistant Police Inspector S.P. Japtap of Panvel police station.

Police spoke to Amit’s family, but they were in a state of shock and could not understand why he had taken such a drastic step.
