Students will be allowed log books in HSC exams
To reduce the students' burden, the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has decided to allow students to use logbooks for physics, mathematics or any such papers which require its use.
Students appearing for the ongoing Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations will not have to waste their times scratching their heads over logarithms. To reduce the students' burden, the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has decided to allow students to use logbooks for physics, mathematics or any such papers which require its use.
However, the provision comes with a few riders attached to it. Students will have to carry their log book and the supervisor will have to approve it before the exams. The logbook should also not contain any other material besides the log table. There should not be any scientific terms or formulae written in the log book.
"By log books we mean books that have log-tables printed on them. No other books will be permitted," said Laxmikant Pande, divisional chairperson, MSBSHSE.
The decision has been taken as students had complained that the log-books generally supplied by the board during the exams conducted in February, 2014, were riddled with minor errors.
