The four suspended MNS legislators will be allowed to vote in the Council elections. But since they are barred from entering the Vidhan Bhavan premises, they will be provided with a special polling booth outside the precincts.

“These MLAs have been given the right to vote but they cannot enter the premises. So, we will have to make special arrangement for them,” said Anant Kalse, principal secretary (legislature).

The Legislative Assembly had suspended Shishir Shinde (Bhandup), Ram Kadam (Vikroli), Vasant Gite (Nasik) and Ramesh Wanjale (Khadakwasla) after they were charged for assaulting Samajwadi Party MLA Abu Azmi last year, for taking the oath of office in Hindi and not in Marathi.
