Teen kidnappers held from Dombivli

Two teenage boys, the youngest only 15, turned out to be the kidnappers of eight-year-old Prince Jain who was abducted on Thursday.

Adhikrishanakumar Guruswami Naidu (15) and Vishal Jain (19) were arrested on Saturday night from Dovimbivli.

They had demanded Rs 1 crore ransom from Prince’s father, Rajendra, who has a marble and granite stone business, in Dombivli. He also owns a jewellery shop at Dombivli.

“When Prince went missing, his parents lodged a missing person complaint at the Ramnagar police station,” said Police Inspector Ramnath Shinde.

“The next day, when Rajendra got a call on his cellphone, the police traced the call to Mumbra. The caller asked Rs 1 crore ransom for Prince’s release,” added Shinde.

Rajendra immediately informed the police about the phone call. The police swung into action and formed five teams to trace the kidnappers.

Ten calls were made by the kidnappers and last call was made from a public booth in Vishnunagar police station area. Naidu was arrested from here.

During interrogation, Naidu told the police about the kidnap plan and even showed the police where they had kept Prince.

The police raided the site and rescued Prince and arrested Vishal Jain.

During questioning, the police learnt that Vishal is Rajendra’s relative. He used to work as a delivery boy in Pizza Hut.

“The boys hatched the plot after they heard about the Yash Shah kidnapping case in the area. Both wanted to easy money,” Shinde said.

Rajendra lauded the efforts of the police in rescuing his child. “It is a miracle and police’s effort has brought my son back. I thank the police and the Almighty for bringing my son back.”
