A 17-year-old boy from Malwani was allegedly beaten to death by the parents of his friend after they found that he had sneaked into their Jogeshwari (West) house to meet her.

After the boy — his name has been withheld because he was a minor — died in hospital while undergoing treatment, the police arrested taxi driver, Aamir Khan, 50 and his wife Shakira, 45, and charged them with murder.

“The couple suspected their daughter was having an affair with the boy, a Class 10 dropout, who had sneaked into her room from the window. They got angry and beat him up,” said KMM Prasanna, deputy commissioner of police (zone 9).

On Monday, after dinner, Aamir asked his wife and two children to go to sleep on the first-floor of their ground- plus-one structure, while he started watching television.

While Shakira and her son went into their room, their 15-year-old daughter went into her’s.

After a while, Shakira noticed the light in her daughter’s room was on and knocked on the door. She even called out to her daughter, but got no response.

Shakira then broke open the door and was shocked to find her daughter with the 17-year-old boy, the police said.

Shakira called out to her husband. “The couple tied up the boy, beat him up and then locked him inside the bathroom. They then approached the Oshiwara police and claimed a thief had entered their house,” said Prasanna.

Their daughter panicked and fled from her house. The police found the badly bruised and bleeding boy unconscious in the bathroom. They took him to RN Cooper Hospital at Juhu, but he died while undergoing treatment.

“We are trying to ascertain if they were having an affair,” said Prasanna.
