Thane: ACB arrests woman constable for accepting Rs 5K
A 30-year-old woman constable with the Shrinagar police station in Thane was arrested by the Navi Mumbai unit of the Anti-Corruption Bureau for accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from the complainant on Friday.

According to the police, the accused identified as Priyanka Gonjari, 30, a head police constable of the Shrinagar police station was arrested on Friday. The Navi Mumbai Anti-Corruption Bureau, who conducted the raid, received a complaint from a man, who had been booked for a dowry case.
“However, after the case was registered, the accused suggested that if she was given Rs 5,000, she would not harass him and would help him in the case. On Friday, the constable was arrested while she was accepting the bribe at Shrinagar police station,” said a police officer from ACB.
A case was registered under sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
