Three persons were arrested on Thursday for stealing cash and valuables worth Rs4.58 lakh from a flat in Borivli.

According to the police, the complainant, the theft occurred when Deepak Sanghavi and his wife were on vacation between April15 and April 17.

Police examined the footage captured by Closed Circuit Televisions (CCTVs) installed in the building compound. “We spotted the building watchman, Hiralal Yadav, with three men on and before the day of the theft,” said a police officer from the MHB Colony police station.

Inquiries revealed that one of the three men was a driver named Rajendra Shelar, who was earlier employed by a building resident. The police took Shelar’s number from his former employer and tracked down his location. Shelar confessed to the crime and led the police to his accomplices, Rahul Vadkar and Devendra Kolpe.
