Three held with charas worth 2 lakh

The Anti-Narcotics Cell of the Mumbai police arrested three persons from Mankhurd on Tuesday and seized around 2 kg of charas worth Rs 2 lakh from them.

The officials had received a tip off that three persons would be coming to Mankhurd near the Sion-Panvel highway with contrabands.

They laid a trap and arrested Suleman Dawood Sajar (26), a resident of Trombay, Vishal Vasant Desai (24), a resident of Virar and Prashant Babu Pallav (29), a resident of Khar.

The trio has been booked under the provisions of Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

In another case, the officials had two months ago, arrested a Rajasthan resident, Prem Singh Hazarilal Jaiswal (50), and seized 16 kg of charas worth more than Rs 12 lakh from him.

According to the officials, they had received information that Jaiawal would be coming to Chembur Naka with contrabands and accordingly laid a trap and arrested him.
