Three more youngsters commit suicide in city

Three more youngsters committed suicide in the city on Thursday. Shivani Seth, an 18-year-old student from SIES College, allegedly killed herself by jumping from the terrace of her five-storeyed building in Matunga. The FYBCom student’s body was found in a pool of blood by residents of the building.

Three more youngsters committed suicide in the city on Thursday.

Shivani Seth, an 18-year-old student from SIES College, allegedly killed herself by jumping from the terrace of her five-storeyed building in Matunga. The FYBCom student’s body was found in a pool of blood by residents of the building.

She was a single child and good at studies, police officials said, adding that the reason why she killed herself is not clear.

In Virar, Suraj Nair, a 15-year-old, hanged himself at home while his parents were at work.

“He returned from school at 11.30 am,” the police said. The Class 10 student’s body was found when his father returned from work.

In the third case, a resident of Thane, Reena Chowdhary (24), was found hanging from the ceiling fan of her room on Thursday evening. Chowdhary had got engaged through an arranged alliance in January and was to get married on February 3.

Her family believes she killed herself because she did not like her fiancé.

According to them, she had refused to tell them why she did not like her fiancé.

Her body was discovered by her younger brother.
