On Saturday morning, the plot between the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation building, and Cama and Albless Hospital saw security arrangements like never before.

The state reserve police force reinforced with the quick response team threw a cordon around the chief metropolitan magistrate's court premises, along with officers from the anti-terrorism squad and the Mumbai crime branch. Officials from Azad Maidan and LT Marg police stations manned the entry and exit points. Even practicing lawyers had to flash their identity cards to enter.

The police were not informed in advance to allow media persons to attend the court proceedings after requisite checks, leading to heated arguments.

Around 10.50am, Abu Jundal was whisked into the court premises in a white Mahindra Scorpio with tinted glasses. When HT went to Cama and Albless Hospital to gauge their reaction, the attendants refused to come on record as the matter is sub judice. However, they said that the accused should be brought to book and strict judgement should be delivered.
