The deceased Sunita Limayi used to live with her husband Ganesh Limayi, 75, an ex-serviceman and their son Raju at the Naval Dock Colony in Kanjurmarg. The couple have two other children who are based abroad.

According to the police, Ganesh and Raju had left for Thane early on Saturday for some personal work.

When they returned around 11am, they found the main door to their house ajar and on entering they found Sunita’s body hanging from the ceiling fan.

They immediately informed the Parksite police and rushed Sunita to a nearby hospital where she was declared dead on arrival.

The police found a suicide note from their residence. The letter was written in Marathi, which said that nobody was to be held responsible for her death. She was taking the drastic step, as she was tired of her ailments.

A police officer from Parksite police station said, “Sunita was suffering from diabetes, joint pain and she also had a thyroid problem and was being treated for them.”

The police have registered a case of accidental death as they do not suspect any foul play.
