Police Commissioner Satyapal Singh on Saturday praised Delhi Police for arresting Dawood Ibrahim aide Abdul Karim Tunda, but simultaneously said Dawood has many close aides in different areas of work.
Singh further said that if Tunda is wanted for interrogation in any of the cases filed by the Mumbai Police, including the case related to the 1993 serial blasts, Mumbai Police would approach their Delhi counterparts for his transfer to the city.
“It cannot be said that Abdul Karim Tunda is the only aide of Dawood Ibrahim. Dawood has many close aides in different areas of his work. But Abdul Karim Tunda is definitely an important man in this syndicate and I appreciate the work of Delhi Police,” he said.
“As far as the Mumbai police is concerned, if he is wanted in any of the cases, be the 93 case or any other case, the Mumbai police will get him here,” he added.
Meanwhile in New Delhi, minister of state for home RPN Singh said the arrest of Tunda would give India access to a bulk of intelligence, and added that the Centre will take strong action against all those trying to weaken the country.
“Because of him, India is not only being attacked through bullets and violence, but our economy is also being attacked because of fake currency notes.agencies
