Two candidates from the city are among the 10 from across the country to have scored 100 percentile in the Common Admission Test (CAT). Results for CAT, which is one of the entry criteria for admission to the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and more than 100 business schools across the country, were declared on Wednesday.

One of the students from Mumbai is Harishwar Subramanian, 25, an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IITB). The name of the other student, however, was not available, as CAT officials said he had not approved the release of his name to the media.

Of the 10 CAT toppers, eight are current or former students of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Last year too, of the nine candidates who scored 100 percentile, two were from Mumbai.

"I expected a good score, but 100 percentile was a pleasant surprise," said Sumit Patil, 22, a Pune boy in his final-year at IIT Madras.

Mumbai also had the most students scoring above 99 percentile (180), followed by Delhi (168) and then Bangalore (157).
