The Kasturba Marg police on Saturday arrested two persons for allegedly robbing a couple at Sanjay Gandhi national park in Borivli. The accused were found with the help of the mobile phone they stole.

The accused have been identified as Shravan Vartse, 26, and Deepak Dhangade, 30. “We were tracking the phone as we had the IMEI number. As soon as a new SIM card was put in the handset, we traced the person in whose name it was registered,” said Pravin Patil, deputy commissioner of police, zone 12.

The person told the Kasturba Marg police that he had purchased the phone from Dhangade, who then led the cops to Vartse.
The duo have been charged with robbery.
