It took more than 15 hours for Nirupama Parasuram, 21, to check her third-year Bachelor of Commerce (TYBCom) results that were declared on Tuesday night. “Around 3.30pm on Wednesday, the page opened, stating that I had scored a first class,” said Parasuram.

The website crashed while uploading the scores of students who took the exam. “It is too premature to give a justification for the cited delay,” said Ambuja Salgaonkar, head of university computer control, which handles the website. Of the 79,766 students who took the exams, 62.96% have passed. There has been a two-month delay in declaring the results. The results of 1,880 students were withheld, as there were errors in seat numbers or mistakes in the OMR sheet.

“A large number of students approached me in the morning complaining about the server error. However, by evening, the issue was sorted out,” said Sangeeta Kher, vice-principal, NM College. Those who have not got their results yet can approach their colleges.

“We have sent the PDF files of the results to the colleges and the gazette will reach on Thursday. The marksheets will be ready in the next few days,” said Vilas Shinde, controller of examinations.
