Just as Opera House reopened for business on Monday, the discovery of an unopened bag in the area, not far from the site of the recent bomb blast, created panic on Monday afternoon.
The handbag had been kept outside a shop near Jumbo Vada Pav, on Tata Road No 2. Passers-by spotted it and informed the police, who cordoned off the area immediately. They called for the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad, and the dog squad.
The police said that the bag contained a tiffin box and a few newspapers. Mumbai police spokesperson deputy commisioner of police Nisar Tamboli told HT that the police are trying to trace the owner.
