From Bandra to Jogeshwari, it will be a dry spell on Friday.

There will be no water supply for 24 hours between Friday 10 am and Saturday 10 am at Bandra, Jogeshwari (East and West) and Goregaon’s Bimbisar Nagar, Virvani Sankul and Odyssey Zone areas.

A 50 per cent water cut will also be enforced in Trombay, while the rest of the city and suburbs will face a 25 per cent cut.

“Instead of doing it on different days, we decided to finish repairs at three places on the same day,” said Dineshchandra Gondaliya, chief engineer of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) Water Department.

Major repairs to fix leakage in pipelines and old valves are needed at the Veravali reservoir at Andheri.

The civic corporation will begin repair work on Friday, and expects to complete it on Saturday by 10 am.

There will be no water supply for the whole of Bandra, all the way to Jogeshwari.

During this period, work will also begin on the Trombay reservoir.

Areas like Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilisers, other refineries, Sahyadri Nagar, Ganesh Nagar and MMRDA colonies in Chembur will face a 50 per cent cut.

The rest of the city and suburbs will face a 25 per cent cut in the same period, as the BMC will begin major repairs at the Panjarapur reservoir.

“We have to start these repairs immediately and we’ve decided to take them up at the same time. Residents of the affected areas should conserve water and use it judiciously,” said Deputy Municipal Commissioner Pramod Charankar.
