The bodies of a woman and one of her three male house help, covered in blood, were found by the woman's daughter on Tuesday evening. The two other servants have been missing since the murders.
The deceased have been identified as Kavita Suchak, 45, and her house help Jagdish Bardai, 30. The incident took place in the ground floor flat of Jai Jagdish society on JVPD Road 5 in Juhu.
Suchak was alone at home while her three children had gone to school. Her husband Yogesh is currently in the US.
According to the police, the murder is suspected to have taken place in the morning or early in the afternoon. When the woman's daughter, a Class 9 student, returned at 12.30pm and found no response to her knocking, she went to a relative's house nearby. She returned with them at 6.30pm after getting no response to phone calls. She found the bodies when she got the door opened with the help of the
"Kavita had been hit on the head with a heavy object and Bardai's body was found in the hall. He had been stabbed," said Vishwas Nangre Patil, additional commissioner of police (West region).
Valuables from Suchak's cupboard have been stolen. "The two servants are missing and we suspect their involvement in the crime," Nangre Patil added.
