Rahima Sheikh alias Fantoos was remanded to police custody till Sunday, in connection with an alleged assault case that was registered two months ago.

Sheikh is also accused of allegedly trying to extort money from a person allegedly on behalf of Sanjeev Kokil, senior police inspector, MRA marg police. “Sheikh had filed an anticipatory bail application in the sessions court in the extortion case. We also registered a case of criminal intimidation against her,” said Anil Mahabole, assistant commissioner of police.

Recently, Kokil had written a letter to the commissioner of police, Sanjeev Dayal alleging that Mahabole and a police inspector are trying to falsely implicate him in an extortion case.
