The murder mystery of a senior citizen at Dadar on September 9 last year still remains unsolved.

Unidentified accused had slit open the throat of Sita Narayan, 79, when she was alone at home.

Her 90-year-old husband, Anant Narayan, found her in a pool of blood around 7pm at their Adarsh Nagar residence, when he returned home from work.

Her gold mangalsutra, ring and four bangles were missing.

The Dadar police have not been able to identify or arrest the accused in the murder case with the investigation having gone cold.

“Immediately after the murder, we questioned a lot of people including house helps, postmen, watchmen and cable boys but nothing came out of it,” said an officer from Dadar police station, who was involved in the investigation of the case.

“We know that the accused was known to the deceased as she voluntarily opened the door to him. Sita was so cautious that even when policemen went to her residence as part of routine security checks, she did not open the door,” said the officer.

He added, “We have investigated the case from several angles but could not find any leads.”

“The case has not been solved but we are still pursuing it,” said senior inspector AD Unde from the Dadar police station.

Sita is survived by her husband and two sons.
