Yukta Mookhey husband’s bail plea rejected

The anticipatory bail application filed by Prince Tuli, the estranged husband of former Miss World Yukta Mookhey, was rejected by a sessions court on Saturday.

The anticipatory bail application filed by Prince Tuli, the estranged husband of former Miss World Yukta Mookhey, was rejected by a sessions court on Saturday. The court, however, granted pre-arrest bails to her in-laws.

On July 3, Yukta had lodged a criminal complaint against her husband and in-laws alleging cruelty and criminal breach of trust, among other charges.

Prince and his parents had approached the sessions court after the police registered a case zon Yukta’s complaint. Acting on their anticipatory bail pleas, an additional sessions judge had granted them interim protection from arrest observing that the complaint did not say anything about cruel treatment in one’s matrimonial home.

Following this, Yukta took the matter to the Bombay high court. The HC then directed the sessions court to decide the anticipatory bail applications on August 30.

Om Puri withdraws anticipatory bail plea

Bollywood actor Om Puri on Saturday withdrew his anticipatory bail application following a statement from the police that the penal provisions against him were bailable and there was no need for him to seek pre-arrest bail.

The actor had approached the sessions court on Tuesday after his wife Nandita lodged a complaint for assault, on the basis of which police booked him for causing hurt by dangerous means and criminal intimidation.
