Closing the loop of second albums, the last sophomore album of the week is Macdonald’s follow-up to her stunning debut, 2007’s‘This is The Life. Much like all singer-songwriters, life is the biggest inspiration for her music. So, while Amy went goggle-eyed at the world first time around, she looks inside this time. She finds inspiration amongst her old notebooks, murdered children, grandparents, wanna-be celebs and even Michael Jackson.
Macdonald’s debut album knocked Radiohead from the top spot in the UK during the Christmas of 2007, making her an artist to watch out for and be reckoned with. As we enter 2010, if this album is anything to go by, then we could be looking at the new Joni Mitchell… could be.
