Ali Zafar’s Jhoom is the highest-selling album in. The actor-singer, who made a sparkling Bollywood debut in Tere Bin Laden (2010), has released a new video for the song Jee dhoondta hai…, that features the poetry of the legendary Mirza Ghalib.
Director Abdullah Haris shot the six-and-a-half minute video over two days. Says Ali, “This was the last song to be added. I recorded it three years ago. Before wrapping up the album, I felt that something was missing. I had already sung one of Ghalib’s poems in my previous album, Koi Umeed Bar Nahin Aatee, and I thought, ‘Who could get enough of the great maestro?’ So, I added this track in the last few days.”
Jhoom has already become popular in India too, making it to the second spot on music charts. Now, Ali is keeping his fingers crossed that the new video does justice to Ghalib’s poetry. The actor wil next be seen on screen in Yash Raj film Mere Brother Ki Dulhan.
