Organisers of Wacken Open Air Festival are building a 7-km long beer pipeline
Every year thousands of music fans flock to the tiny German village of Wacken to witness one of world’s biggest heavy metal music festivals. This year they are set for a pleasant surprise.
Organisers of Wacken Open Air Festival, which is now in its 28th year, are building an underground, 4-mile pipeline to provide revellers with fresh beer.

According to Deutsche Welle, the pipeline will carry about 105,000 gallons of beer to vending stalls and will enable bartenders to draw six beers per second.
“The installation of the pipes and the enlarged drainage is a lasting investment in the infrastructure of Wacken,” claims the festival’s website.
