Actor Varun Dhawan, who has spent almost three years in Bollywood, always wanted Atif Aslam to sing his tracks in a film.

The actor's wish came true when the Pakistani singer came on board for Varun's next, Badlapur.

"Varun had mentioned to the makers during the making of the film that Atif is one of his favourite singers. So when a romantic song had to be recorded for the film, Atif was the first choice," says a source.

But apparently, the song was kept as a surprise for Varun.

"It was only while shooting the song that he came to know that Atif had sung it," adds the source.

When asked about it, an excited Varun says, "I am a fan of Atif's voice and really wanted him to sing for me. I didn't know it will happen so soon!"
